This is not just a bus, it is a bibliobùs,  a library organised in a bus.

In Quito, Ecuador, El Recreo Commercial Center together with Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana (CCE) developed a project to encourage and promote a reading culture.

The bus has got 5000 books at the moment and the main customers are teenagers. People have the opportunity to sit down and read a book for free, in the bus or in the room just beside the bus. If they want to borrow a book they need to join the program for a small fee.
