Vennesla Library and Cultural Centre

We are not in a space station or in the set of the next Star Wars episode.

We are in a public library in Norway, projected and designed by two architects, Helen&Hard.

The library strikes for sophistication and elegance. The idea is to create an inviting public space. In the main room there are no walls, furnitures and fittings differentiate the areas. The whole building consists of 27 ribs that form the geometry of the roof as well as the orientation of the open space. The ribs make also the shelves, the sitting benches and the studying zone.
